Kissing Ball

I miss planning a wedding so much that I decided to help my office mate at work with hers. She is getting married in May and I shared several ideas with her that she liked and is going to use. She asked me this week if I was crafty enough to make a kissing ball for her flower girl to carry and I said I would try. We went shopping together the other day at Old Time Pottery and picked the flowers out. I was so happy with the way the kissing ball turned out that I wanted to share it with everyone. I'm honestly thinking of one day starting a business of making handmade wedding crafts because I enjoy it so much.

Pancake Joe

This past Tuesday was Joe's first day on the full 24 hour shift. The firehouse is like a real frat house. All these guys pulling pranks on their newbies. They told Joe to watch his back for atleast the first month. Tuesday they pulled the hose on him during a training and then threw pancake mix on him. He loves it though!!

Sworn In

Joe was sworn in today and received his badge. The ceremony was held at Maitland City Hall. It was a very nice ceremony, which included several speakers, the pinning of the badges and a video presentation. After the ceremony the new fire fighters received their shift assignments. Joe was assigned to "C" shift at station 47. His first day is Tuesday. Joe gave us a tour of station 45 and then the new hires took some pictures by the trucks. The veteran fire fighters pulled their first prank on the rookies at this time. They had the rookies pose in front of the truck while they hid on the roof of the station with buckets of water and the hose. All the photographers counted to 3 and on 3 the vets dropped all the water off the roof and onto the rookies. The guys were all soaked. Click here to view all the pictures of the day.

Babysitting

Every other Tuesday I babysit for one of the supervisor's at work while she attends meetings. This is her one year old, Samantha. We watched Shrek today and played with her new blocks. She has an older sister too that I watch sometimes when she doesn't have school. Next time Alexandra is home from school I'll snap a picture of her too.

Getting closer to the real thing

Friday is Joe's badge pinning ceremony and graduation from training but I got excited when I saw his name pin and I thought I would share it with everyone. I know it's a little blury, the pin is a mirror and the flash bounced off of it.

Wine Room

Last friday we went to Wine Room in Winter Park to celebrate my birthday with our friends. We started the night out with some Sushi at our favorite place, Nagoya.
