Friday, January 6th, a Pompano Beach Fire Fighter died on duty during a tragic accident. Bill Elliot was his name and he worked with my father and 2 uncles for years. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all of his "brothers" at the station. This past Friday, the 13th they held a memorial service for him. It was one of the saddest yet most beautiful days I have ever experienced. I am a very fortunate person to witness the outpouring of love and respect. Bill received an honorable send off. I am so proud to be a fire fighter's daughter and now wife. May God bless Bill and all other service men and women.

The casket arrived on the back of the first ever fire truck in Pompano Beach
The bag pipers playing. They had a group called the "Black Pearl" which was comprised of men from all over to include Boston and Canada. They were amazing and they rocked it out later at the reception.

They ended the day with a wonderful block party/reception where everyone gathered. Businesses from all over donated food and drinks for everyone. Even waste management was there cleaning up. They also had a band to end the evening in style.
This truly was a day I will never forget!!
