New Orleans

April 29-May 3 I traveled to New Orleans for the 19th National Child Abuse and Neglect Conference. New Orleans has always been on my list of places to travel to so when this opportunity came up I couldn't pass it up. I went with another fellow supervisor from work, Nancy. We learned some new stuff and of course made time to see the city and have some fun.

first day of conference

Bourbon Street

Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee

Nicolas Cage already had his tomb waiting for him

Superdome where the Saints play

Mardi Gras World where they build and house all the floats

Katrina Statue made from the storm's debris.

I tried some really good food in NOLA but these were by far the best. Dragos came recommended by many and it just so happen to be in our hotel. They are known for their char-grilled oysters. They were delicious!

St. Louis Cathedral, oldest in New Orleans
